For International Public Science Day (March 8th), some of the Soaring with Science team members displayed an example of their project to MOSH visitors. This year, Public Science Day coincided with Women's History Day at MOSH which focused on historical women in flight. MOSH guests got to learn about Amelia Earhart and Bessie Coleman as well as enjoy the Soaring with Science team projects through interactive activities!
The Soaring with Science teams showed up long before opening time to set up their projects. Several had handouts to give out which were copied at various locations throughout the building. Messy projects like the Miniature Rockets set up next to Tonca's Tank while the (arguably) cleaner projects, like Bird Making and Comet vs. Meteor stationed themselves at nearer to the main lobby.
There was alot of excitement in the air as the first group of early birds wandered into MOSH. At first it was very quiet, giving the official IPSD 2003 event photographer plenty of time to snap shots and some video of projects on display. Later, the crowds got a little too heavy for strolling around. This year's International Public Science Day was even better than last year's thanks to the inventiveness and creativity of the Soaring with Science team!
All in all, it was a great (International Public Science) Day at MOSH!
