Introduction:

This is a fun rocket made from recycled film canisters. It's a craft and science experiment all wrapped into one!

Procedure:

  1. Children should add the "fuel" (also known as water) to the canister about a quarter full.
  2. Then take a quarter of the alka seltzer tablet and put it into the canister.
  3. Seal up the canister with the lid. Put the cap down on the ground.
  4. Step back from the rocket. Wait a minute or so.
  5. The rocket will shoot up into the air from the pressure of the tablet creating gas in the canister.

Note: You can obtain film canisters by asking at film developing studios! Miniature Rocket Experiment was referenced in the making of this project!
