Project Identification
- Credit statements and specifications are displayed on each page of the site. The credit statement in the lower right and the logos of the main organizations in the lower left.
- The project webspace is served from www.themosh.org, hosted by our friends at AT&T Business Internet Services. The design is by Glenn Anderson, with input from the IPSD team and general public, and all content has been generated entirely by the Soaring with Science team or their referenced sources (for the A to Z of Flight).
- The program logo should is displayed prominently in the upper left corner of each page. It links back to the home page of the Soaring with Science page but links back to the main program information area are scattered throughout the content of the site.
Educational and Scientific Content
- Soaring with Science is presented in the English language.
- How-to descriptions of the projects created for Soaring with Science
can be found in the Fun Projects
area. Research for the A to Z of Flight
and What is it? has been and can
be pulled from any reputable source (online or offline) as long as credit
is given.
- This project webspace is designed as a template for others who would like to practice online science education. The only thing missing is testimonials from the Soaring with Science team, for which the A to Z of Flight was substituted.
- Clear narratives (along with pictures) of the events are provided in the Public Science Day 2003 area.
- The basic scientific principles behind the projects are presented. The science content is accurate.
Web Design Features and Functionality
- It is our hope that this Web site is visually attractive with the use of attractive digital media. Furthermore, the design is set to scale up or down to accomodate screens as small as 640x480 pixels and as large as is currently possible. Font sizes are set at 11 point for maximum readability regardless of resolution. All images can be set to "big" or "small" based on the needs of the moment on a per-page basis.
- Soaring with Science is accessible to a wide variety of browsers (including Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape, Opera, and Mozilla). Several fast-download techniques have been used to make the navigation experience as painless as possible.
- Bleeding-edge interactive technologies were not used in the production of Soaring with Science. For complete browser compatability, only HTML, JPEG, and GIF were used. Videos may be downloaded in MPEG format for viewing on the user's computer without the need for plugins.
- Each page features an Email link to make contact with the Soaring with Science team as easy as possible.
Miscellaneous
- Soaring with Science will be maintained indefinitely, based on user feedback, following the model of Energy in Motion.
- All images and content are the property of the Museum of Science & History but can be used freely for educational purposes.
- All feedback is greatly encouraged. Good or bad, big or small, just contact the Webmaster to get your changes made!
