Do It Yourself: Evolution: February 20th, 2002

An observant site visitor sent an Email suggesting that our navigation was hard to distinguish from everything else...

The Feedback:

Dear MOSH,

I found your public science day page and think it sounds interesting. can you tell me more about it? I couldn't find any other pages except the one about the goals. Thanks!

Response:

Well, this Email illustrated a problem with the original design (which you may not have seen). The navigation bar, which has the links in brilliant blue now, was originally just black text that used JavaScript "roll-overs" to become bold black text. Upon review, this site visitor's difficulties became clear... the main navigation bar was terrible! After a quick focus group (where everyone agreed that it didn't look like navigation) the design was altered to promote ease of use. Thanks for your feedback, you've left a permanent mark on the MOSH's IPSD Web site! As for wanting more information, as promised (in a reply not listed here) here it is!
