MOSH Volunteer Program (MVP) MOSH is a great place to volunteer your free time! Become an MVP - MOSH Volunteer Patron - and have fun while donating your time and skills to an exciting and educational organization. MOSH needs reliable, responsible adults to assist with daily activities, special events, and exhibit upkeep. Whether you're age 21 or 81, we'll place you in one of our areas that best fits your interests and skills. Volunteering gives you valuable experience and looks great on your resume. In addition to acquiring new experiences, MVPs receive certain other benefits as well including: 10% discount to museum store, discounted MOSH membership, an annual recognition event, and more. To be an MVP all you have to do is complete an application and attend an orientation, attend all required volunteer training sessions, and commit to a minimum of 10 hours per month.

Regular Volunteer Positions
Universe of Science Docent - Help visitors in the Universe
of Science, a hands-on
exhibit about physical science, have an enjoyable experience while
using the
equipment in an appropriate way. Weekdays or weekends.
Florida Naturalist's Center Assistant - Help the Naturalists
in the Florida Naturalist's
Center care for the live animals housed at MOSH and ensure that
visitors have an
enjoyable and educational experience. Weekdays or weekends.
Natural Sciences Collections Assistant - Assist the Curators
of Natural Science to
catalogue, organize, and maintain the Natural Sciences Collection
of non-living specimens. Weekdays only.
Hixon Native Courtyard Assistant - Identify, catalogue and
maintain the plants in the
Hixon Native Courtyard. Weekdays or weekends.
Atlantic Tails Demonstrator - Present marine mammal demonstration
cart and assist
visitors in the Atlantic Tails exhibit. Weekdays or weekends.
Physical Science Demonstrator - Present physical science
demonstration carts and help visitors in the Universe of Science
exhibit. Weekdays or weekends.
Currents of Time Docent - Help visitors in the Currents
of Time, an exhibit about
the history of Northeast Florida, achieve a greater understanding
of history while enjoying themselves. Weekdays or weekends.
History Demonstrator - Present history demonstration carts
and help visitors in the
Currents of Time exhibit have an enjoyable experience. Weekdays
or weekends.
History Collections Assistant - Assist the Curator of History
in cataloguing, organizing,
and maintaining the History Collections of artifacts, photographs,
and archival
materials. Weekdays only.
Kidspace Helper - To help visitors to Kidspace, an
area for children under 5, have an
fun, safe, and educational experience. Weekdays or weekends.
School Group Greeter - Make sure school groups have a pleasant
experience while
visiting MOSH by ensuring that check-in, museum exploration time,
and transitions between programs are smooth-moving and not confusing.
Weekday mornings only.
MOSH Store Volunteer - To help museum patrons have a good
shopping
experience in the museum gift shop by restocking, straitening displays,
and
answering questions. Weekday mornings and weekends.
Sporadic or One-Time Volunteer Positions
Special Events Volunteer - Act as support staff during special
events at the museum to
ensure that patrons have the most enjoyable experience possible.
Mailouts Team Member - Complete large mailouts for the museum.
Member Services Team Member - Thank museum members by personal
telephone call to make them feel appreciated and valued.
Family or group volunteer opportunities are also available. Call

on how to become a volunteer at the Museum of Science & History.
Please note that you must be 21 or older to be an MVP (MOSH volunteer
patron). Teens grade 9-12 can volunteer through our teen
intern program. College level internships are also available.
