Calling all Builders! Gather your bricks & head over to MOSH for an after-hours build-a-thon!    

Activities include:

  • Awesome Freestyle building

  • Visit space through our Awesome Tour of The Solar System show in the Bryan-Gooding Planetarium
  • Plus free Awesome time to explore the Museum

 Cost is $35 per person (adult required).  The event begins at 6 p.m. and includes a late-night pizza snack and continental breakfast. MOSH Members receive a 20% discount.

Book your own Camp-In!

Ever wanted to spend the night sleeping under Fermata, our life sized Right Whale? Now’s your chance! Camp-ins generally include a planetarium show, science or animal show, free time to explore exhibits, a late night snack, and a movie!

  • When: Most Saturday Nights
  • Time: 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
  • Cost: $35 per person

If you have a group of 50 people or more, call 904.396.MOSH (6674), ext. 226 to reserve a private camp-in!

Please note: One chaperone is required for every 10 scouts. MOSH may cancel a camp-in if a minimum of 50 people do not register; maximum capacity is 100 people. A $100.00 deposit required to reserve your camp-in date and final payment is due no later than 30 days before your event date. Credits or refunds will not be given for members of your group that are no shows/no calls.

Helpful Information

Plan to arrive at the Museum (front doors) at 6 p.m. MOSH Staff will be in the front lobby to welcome campers. Designated MOSH parking is located behind the Museum in the parking lot surrounded by Friendship Park near the Main Street Bridge. This is the only parking lot that will be monitored by MOSH security.
Campers will be provided a late-night pizza snack, but we recommend campers eat dinner before coming to MOSH. In the morning,g a continental breakfast will be served.

  • Please be aware that due to our artifacts and collections, MOSH is temperature controlled and can get chilly at night. We advise that you bring warm clothes and plenty of blankets.
  • Also please be aware that not all light will be extinguished in the Museum, so there will be some spaces that remain lit throughout the night for safety purposes.
  • Please feel free to bring your own snacks and water but note that gum is not allowed in the Museum.

What to bring:

  • Pajamas
  • Pillow/sleep bag or blankets (adults may bring air mattresses)
  • Flashlight
  • Toothbrush/toothpaste
  • Toiletries

Below is a sample itinerary for the events scheduled at a typical camp-in. Times are flexible and are only intended as a guideline.

  • 6:00 p.m. – Doors open
  • 6:30 p.m. – Check-In & Orientation
  • 7:00 p.m. – Planetarium or Science Show
  • 8:00 p.m. – Late-Night Pizza Snack
  • 8:30 p.m. – Museum Time (Explore all three floors of the Museum except the Florida Naturalist’s Center; the animals need their beauty sleep!)
  • 10:30 p.m. – Movie in the Wells Fargo Conference Room
  • 11:00 p.m. – Lights Out!
  • 6:30 a.m. – Rise & Shine: Breakfast is served!
  • 7:00 a.m. – Clean Up, Gather Belongings and Prepare to Leave
  • 7:30 a.m. – Time to Go



Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a minimum age for campers?

The age range for campers is from 3-12 years old and all campers must attend with an adult that will be responsible for them for the evening.

What time do we arrive and what time do we leave?

Guests can arrive to check in at 6 p.m., but the camp-in will not officially begin until 6:30 p.m. We ask that guests pack up after breakfast and leave by 7:30 a.m.

What should I bring?

Please bring a flashlight, sleeping bag, pillow and blankets with you along with any toiletries that you might need. Adults can bring air mattresses as well.

Where can we sleep?

Guests are welcome to sleep in any carpeted area of the Museum. That means you can sleep by the Allosaurus, the life-sized whale or even in our traveling exhibit gallery.

What is the temperature of the Museum?

The Museum tends to get chilly at night so make sure you bring warm blankets and/or a sweater.

What meals are served?

A late-night pizza snack is served but we suggest you eat dinner before coming. Then a continental breakfast will be served before leaving in the morning.

Can we bring snacks?

You are welcome to bring snacks; we just ask that you please be mindful of keeping the Museum clean.

Will The MOSH Store be open?

During most instances, The MOSH Store will be open for at least an hour.
